Secrets to winning radio contests

• Show enthusiasm! DJ 's listen for excited winners. They want to air an interesting and lively conversation to help promote the radio station giveaway. Deadbeats are often passed, according to my DJ sources.


• Get to know the radio station’s routine. They may ask for callers ten minutes before the hour or once per DJ’s shift. Be ready!
  


• Morning and late afternoon drive time (7AM - 8 AM , 5 PM - 6 PM) is often when a grand prize is given away. This is when the radio station has the most listeners.


• Connect with people who enter radio call ins contests. Join a local sweepstakes club in your area. Start a list of phone numbers to have on hand. Sometimes a station will call out a name and the person has ten minutes to call in. Friends can notify each other when they hear your name. I won a trip to Fort Lauderdale,Florida because friends notified me that my name was called out! I Also missed a trip to Aruba because a non-sweeping friend told me the next day! Hook up with friends!


• Get to know when the Arbitron ratings are being conducted. Big prizes are often given out during the rating periods.


• Know the radio stations rules. Sometimes a person can only win once every 30 days , 60 days ect. Don’t wast your valuable time if are not eligible to win.


• Be on alert to national contests. Some radio stations belong to a large network of stations throughout the US. The contests may includes thousands of callers , reducing your chances of winning. Chances of winning are much greater with a local station versus a national one.


• Call in often, every day, several times a day, if your schedule permits. Calling in once every two months will not bring in many wins if any.


• Get rid of extras on your telephone like three way, ect. This slows down the dialing process.


• Use speed dial on your phone. Program the radio station phone numbers on your phone. Its much faster with a push of a buttom. Make sure the number is programmed to dial only two numbers instead of nine.
  
  


• Find the local radio station web sites. Often they announce online about the next contest. Sign up for station email newsletter and sign up for stations clubs.
