Chronicle Books: Sweepstakes WinnersOn December 15, Chronicle announced the winners Puzzle Decks Brainiac Sweepstakes. There was one Grand Prize winner, and five first prize winners. The Grand prize is a 13 inch Mac laptop computer. The sweepstakes was open to all ages, but it was geared towards children. All the winners were children.
What is interesting is the method of choosing the winners. According to the Chronicle Book Blog, they took out all the entry forms out of each and every envelope (ugh).That's quite a tedious task for the employee chosen for envelope opening job! They placed each entry into a tote bag, and picked the winning entry form from the tote. The fine people at Chronicle Books explain how they chose the winner with pictures. Below is a statement from the blog site:
"As nice as those envelopes were, we opened each and every one (so there was no favoritism) and placed the entry forms in one of our snazzy Chronicle Books tote bags. With the help of The World Almanac Puzzler Decks editor, Andrea Menotti, we were able to randomly select the winners here in the office last week."
Take a look at the envelopes received. Looks like a lot of envelopes are decorated, some wallpaper envelopes, solid colors, white(boring) and envelopes with stickers are in the pile.
